Through the case study of several kinds of contemporary laggard students inmathematics, this paper tries to reveal their circumstances and features and probesinto some countermeasures to change the contemporary laggard students guided.Inaddition, the author puts forward the recognition of mathematics study evaluation tothem and the plan of enforcement, as well as the proposal to the development of theteachers, students and schools, which will be for the convenience of the futurerecognition and study of the contemporary group. All the above will not only changethe present condition of the school, but also increase the students’ enthusiasm andinitiative besides their interest in study, making the majority of the contemporarylaggard students gradually extricate themselves form a difficult position in study andgain a lot on the basis of their original ability, so as to develop good learning habits.Mathematics become more and more important in modern society.At the sametime,Math education of junior middle school as a part of the basic education showsthat a large number of middle school students are not interested inmathematics.They lack of learning motivation and learning efficiency of math.A largenumber of contemporary laggard students of math appeared in different grades.Theybecome the most difficult task of hard stuff and even feel stressed into mathclasses,which hinder the students’ all-round development.However,in a society oflifelong education has became populared,education is not confined into class andschool and learning habits is particularly important for junior middle schoolstudents.If we can cultivated good learning habits for students,teachers can pay moreattention on the laggard students without great pressure.The main content of the paper included seven parts.Firstly:foreword, It discusses the research method and the problems are goingto be solved, the research goal and the meaning of the problems, and the presentconditions of the research.The second part is a theoretical review which includes theoretical foundation ofthe laggard student and their learning habits. The third part is the basic theory of the laggard students and their learninghabits.The fourth part, the fifth part and the sixth part consist of three laggardstudents`cases from three grades and three kinds of homestyle.The seventh part is a summary, which is divided into two parts: the first partsummarizes the problems of the contemporary laggard students’ learning habits inmath in middle school, the second part summarizes the basic strategies about how toimprove the contemporary laggard students’learning habits in math in middle school.The last part is the end of this thesis and the reference.
