The Intervention Study On The Adaptability Problem Of College Freshmen On School Social Work

The College Freshman stage is adolescent phase of the transition from high school to university since the study environment, the way of learning, the education mode and the interpersonal relationship as well in campus are totally different in comparison with those in high school. As a result, freshmen have problem to adapt the new environment when they study in university Along with the reform of education system, university enrollment expansion, the adaptability is becoming increasingly serious problem for freshman and plays an important role in their future life, including learning and life experience.The social work in school is originated from the United States in the early20th century and finally this name was born in1945. This study comes from the view of the social work in Yunnan University and the research object is the freshman in2012. By questionnaire and semi-structured interview, the present adaptation situation of freshmen, the reason why freshman has adaptability problem, the feasibility and advantages of the social work in school to deal with adaptability disabled groups. On this basis, using the methods of operations research and participatory observation, we built this new mode to evaluate and summarize the effect of the school social work in combination practical and theoretical study by using two professional schools of social work methods, namely schools case social work and school group work.Though our study, it is found that the school social work could help freshmen to solve various problems in the transition period and help them better adapt to the new school life, which was highly approved by students and teachers. Therefore, it is concluded that the school social work method has significant effects to help freshman effectively solve adjustment. Similarly, such professional method can also be introduced into other university student work.
