With the huge development of our country after the policy of Opening-up and reform, the industrialization level of our country improves significantly. With the process of urbanization accelerating, the demand for labors increases sharply, and many labors from rural areas rush into cities. While some of the children of these rural labor forces are taken into cities and become the children of floating population, and some are left homes and become left-behind children. Those left-behind pupils are quite different from average pupils, and are easier to cause some problems; one of the problems is book-wearied. Book-wearied concerns the development of those children themselves, as well as the stability of our society.The research selects pupils of fifth or sixth grades of P elementary school of Baoshan City as study objects to explore the causes of book-wearied and the effects of social work methods on solving the problem of book-wearied of those left-behind children. P elementary school is the central primary school of P county. The writer conducts preliminary investigation into the book-wearied situations through questionnaires, case interviews or participant observations, and explores the causes of book-wearied. Finally, it intervenes with the problem of book-wearied by comprehensive application of group work and community work and reviews the effects and shortages of social work’s intervention in hope of providing references for subsequent social work intervention.The study found that group work and community education to carry out a more significant effect to improve the problem of children left behind weariness, children left behind by the group work shift before error cognitive learning to enhance interest in learning, correct the wrong motivation, community activities, making the left-behind children emotionally relieve tension, improve the learning efficiency, enhance the interest in learning.
