The reason of migrant children’s appearance and the practical significance of researching this population will be showed in the first part in this essay:While the number becoming huger and huger, migrant children will face many adaptive problems in urban life including their educational, psychological, and social life. These elements make them likely to encounter difficulties in their lives. Consequently, migrant children become the group that public concerns. In the second part in this text, former academic circle’s research in the field of social support, education and psychology about the troubles that migrant children might be faced will be reviewed. Dealing with the mentioned difficulties, most scholars who hope to improve migrant children’s life condition by making institutional changes from the macro level give relative suggestions on policy. A conclusion can be made after the literature review:In those former researches, problems of migrant children be emphasized and amplified. On the one hand, they do get many attentions; one the other hand, they are labeled as problem children. Social work practice under the strength perspective objects to analyze and solve problems from problem perspective. Strength perspective theory believes that everyone has a potential to overcome difficulties and improve their own situation. On basis of strength perspective theory, this article put forward a rational conceive about serving and helping migrant children to accustom their life. The third part of this essay introduces the research target, research method and analysis method. The external risk factors and internal support factors will be analyzed in the forth part. Combined with the experience the author had in a village in Beijing, the following passage will present the exploration and introspection about migrant children. In the fifth part, this text discusses the principle and method of social work practice under the strength perspective, proposing that the process of constructing clients’ resilience need to be completed through the construction of external support enhanced internal support and self-efficacy factors. This part introduces NPO M’s specific activities, for instance, parents classroom, magic math, draughts and many other groups, analyses their effects on constructing migrant children’s resilience. In the last part of the article, the method and effect of migrant children’s involvement work will be summarized and introspected. This essay puts some new features of migrant children, including longer-term and more stable live in the city, the contact with hometown tend to weaken, becoming new urban immigration. In the end of the essay, there reflects insufficient about the involvement of migrant children under the strength perspective:this perspective may over concerned clients’ advantages, over-optimistic and neglect the emergence of the problem my caused by social structure, this is often criticized by the problem of school. Overall, however, strength perspective has its merit. Serving migrant children with this idea can enhance their self-confidence, develop their ability to adapt city life and grow healthy ultimately.
