The Teaching System In American Community Colleges

The teaching system is a stable system established by education institutions which cultivates talents for the social demands through organizing some relevant factors of teaching activities, which contains training objectives, teaching process teaching management and teaching evaluation. Consummating teaching system of schools of continuing education in common universities in China is significative to the sustainable development of adult education in common universities in our country.Based on the teaching system of schools of continuing education in common universities in China and the research results of adult education discipline construction in our country, especially the new results of schools of continuing education in common universities in China and American community colleges, the thesis carried on the earnest analysis and comparison, then summarized teaching system of community colleges in the United, and came to revelations for the building of teaching system of schools of continuing education in common universities in China.The thesis contains three parts.The first part introduced the research background, purpose and meaning at first. Secondly, introduced the concept of teaching system. Thirdly, interpreted the general situation of American community colleges and schools of continuing education in common universities, highlighted the two is comparable, pointed out the necessity to take example by the teaching system of American community colleges for teaching system of the schools of continuing education in common universities in China.The second part combed the teaching system in American Community Colleges, concluded the reference for teaching system of schools of continuing education in common universities in China. For example, expounding to readers the American Community Colleges how to determine the training objectives and teaching purpose, develop the teaching process, carry out teaching management and teaching evaluation, choose teaching contents and construct the teachers’ team. In order to understand the process of setting teaching content, this part of article discussed the source of the teaching content, the principle and method of setting and the evaluation for setting. In order to learn the construction of teachers’ team, this part of article also analyzed the structure, employment, evaluation, compensation and further education of teachers.The third part discussed the situation of teaching system in the schools of continuing education in common universities in China, especially the training objectives, teaching process and teaching evaluation, pointed the problems of the teaching system. Comparing to the teaching system in American Community Colleges, this part put forward the idea of perfecting teaching system in the schools of continuing education in common universities in China.
