With the proceeding city development and the increasing population movement, a large number of population with families move to cities to look for jobs and become migrant workers and their children as a new group has drawn more attention. In Longwan district Wenzhou city, an eastern coastal city, non-public enterprises are continuously growing and the population of migrant workers is rapidly expanding, this group known as the "New Longwan People" has become an important force in promoting economic and social development of Longwan,and their children are in a rapid increase. Therefore, the research on this group is typical and representative. As one of the promoters of the future social development, the children of migrant workers should be paid attention to and should enjoy the same rights of ordinary citizens. A proper solution to social adaptation problems of the children of migrant workers is not only the need of the increasing social mobility, but also the demand of our construction of harmonious society.The society has a lovely name "the flowing flowers" for the children of migrant workers. Everyone knows that the school is the cradle of children’s development. It plays an important role in the healthy growth of children, and sometimes even influences the children’s whole life. With the development of our economy in Longwan District, more and more migrant workers come to Longwan, and also bring their children to school in Longwan. This paper studies the migrant workers’ children that are defined as permanent minor residents in Longwan but without Longwan District registration.When doing the practice work in Longwan Young Pioneers Association and Longwan Volunteers Association, the author visited schools for the children of migrant workers and made some interviews and questionnaire surveys. When holding student communities’ cultural festival and schools’science and technology festival, the author organized many activities such as helping migrant workers’ children achieving dreams, supplying nutrition meals and caring for migrant workers’children, etc. These activities help the author get a deep observation into the adaptation of migrant workers’ children in learning, interpersonal and psychological aspects, and the author discovers there exist many adaptation problems in this special group. How to find out the causes and to put forward the feasible solutions is where this paper’s topic lies.From the perspective of school social work, the paper provides core concepts definitions such as "children of migrant workers" and "school adaptation", theoretical foundation, research methods of learning and research ideas, and employs the means of literature research, questionnaire survey, observation and interviews and other research methods. Focusing on the describing analysis of migrant workers children’s adaptation to learning environment, peer relationship, teacher-student relationship and emotional needs etc, and on the differential analysis of migrant workers’children in different age, gender and whether or not the only child, etc, the paper studies how school adaptation affects migrant workers’ children in Longwan district, and by mastering the current situation, exploring regularity, causes analysis, the author put forward the feasible suggestions on how to improve migrant children school in terms of mental adaptation, interpersonal adaptation, learning adaptation and the improvement in living conditions, which is to help migrant workers’ children to adapt to school and grow up physically and spiritually healthy, so as to become a social citizens who have good social adaptation and sense of happiness. This is also the embodiment of maintaining social fairness and justice and striving to address problems concerning people’s livelihood.
