In recent years, with the rapid development of our country’s economy and the deepening of industrialization process, the undergraduate demand increase a lot, and the types of the undergraduate tend to diversity. In addition, with the development of our country’s politics, economy and science and technology, the universities’teaching goal and function has undergone some changes. In this background, there will be more and more people desiring into the university. However, the original university system is difficult to meet the needs of rapid development. Therefore, a large number of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course rise straight from the ground. Although the rapid development of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course, because of their late start, low starting point and the lack of experience, they had a lot of challenges in the higher education market competition. Professional setting is the key to ensure that private universities and colleges of undergraduate course in the higher education market competition to get a place. Therefore, research on the current situation of major setting of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course has realistic guiding significance, and can timely find out the problems in professional settings, so as to seek countermeasures to promote sound and sustainable development of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course.The paper starts with the basic of universities and colleges of undergraduate course’s professional setting and the historical development of universities and colleges of undergraduate course’s professional setting, and analyzes and summarizes the laws of the evolution and development of our country’s college professional setting and adjustment. Secondly, the sixty private universities and colleges of undergraduate course’s professional setting status and characteristics were investigated and analyzed, and compared with the public universities and colleges of undergraduate course in professional Settings, so as to learn the basic situation of the major setting of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course in the primary stage of undergraduate course construction and find the existing problems. Next, the paper put these problems into two major categories:one is the special problems of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course and the other is the common problems of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course and new public universities and colleges of undergraduate course, and respectively analyzed the reason of the two kinds of problems. Finally, focusing on private universities and colleges of undergraduate course and the national government which play a major role in the professional settings, the paper explored effective measures in adjustment and improvement in professional setting of private universities and colleges of undergraduate course.
