This study used questionnaire survey. The main conclusions are as follows:1. The late Chinese version of Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale had reliability and validity; and it could be regarded as authentic reference with interrelated researches in our country.2. There were significant gender differences in sex on the high school students’ self-handicapping. Female students had more self-handicapping than male students significantly.3. There was positive relation between perfectionism and self-handicapping. The dimensions of concern about mistakes, doubt of action and parental expectations had positive correlation with self-handicapping significantly; the dimension of organization had negative correlation with self-handicapping significantly. Performance-avoid and mastery-avoid goal orientation have positive correlation with self-handicapping significantly; Mastery-approach goal orientation had negative correlation with self-handicapping significantly.4. Performance-avoid goal orientation of high school students played the predominating intermediary role between perfectionism and self-handicapping.
