It is a effective way and important link of the qualified talent cultivation in the currentfierce competition situation to improve the self-management ability of university student.The self-management ability of the university students in Guangzhou city wereinvestigated and studied in this paper to understand the situation of the self-managementability of the post-90s university student, and then to provide the services for the studentsto improve the self-management consciousness and comprehensive quality.“Theself-management ability questionnaire of the post-90s university students” was finallyformed through interview, open investigation and preliminary questionnaire. Thequestionnaire contained38items that belonged to six dimensions of life, respectively,including time management, knowledge management, body and mind management,interpersonal relationship management, occupation career management and networkmanagement. A total of450questionnaires were sent out in the eight universitiesincluding Sun Yat-sen University and421valid questionnaires were handed in with thecallback rate of93.56%. The results showed that the overall characteristics of thepost-90s university students self-management ability were that the interpersonalrelationship management was better, the body and mind management was general, theother four dimensions including time managenment was ont ideal. According to gender,the network life management of girls is better than boys (P<0.05), the other fivedimensions had no significant difference between sexes. According to the grade, theknowledge management improved and network life management decreased, repectively,year by year from grade1to grade4in university was increasing, and the knowledgemanagement of grade3and4were significantly higher than that of the first grade(P<0.05), and the network life management had no significant difference between eachgrade; The time management in the first grade was significantly lower than the secondgrade (P<0.05); the occupation career management in the fourth grade was significantlyhigher than that of the first grade (P<0.05); there were no siginificant difference in theother two dimentions including the body and mind management and interpersonalrelationship management in four grade, respectively. The network life management ofrural students was significantly higher than the city students according to the source (P<0.05), there were not obvious difference in the other five dimensions. According tothe professional type, the time management of literature and history class was significantlyhigher than that in the other professional type (P<0.05), and there were no significantdifference between different types of specialty in the other five dimensions. According towhether the only child, the network life management of the only children weresignificantly lower than that of the non-only children (P<0.05), with no significantdifference in the other five dimensions. In each dimension, the time management had apoor planning, the knowledge management needed the initiative and target, the body andmind management needed improvement, the interpersonal relationship managementperformance is good, the occupation career management needed to strengthen theexecutive power, and the network life management emphasised on entertainment ratherthan learning. The results indicated that the self-management ability of post-90s in theother dimensions should be improved, in addition to the good interpersonal relationshipmanagement.
