With the remarkable rise of the prices of raw materials for running canteen and more and more college students are reviving on consumer psychology and consciousness of rights safeguarding in recent years. College students are having a high expectation on university canteens. Meanwhile, universities are facing many serious problems such as the infrastructure facilities cannot meet the demand for providing comfortable service for the college students, shortage of dormitory for college students to accommodate and extremely crowd in the students’canteen due to the expand enrollment. All of these problems bring about serious challenges for university canteens’management and operation, the traditional ways and measures cannot be applied to the management of current situation of university canteens. The author has been working in university logistics management for6years, knowing the responsibilities and problems for managing university canteen well. The author thinks that the first and for most is to improve the students’satisfaction to their canteens.Till now, researches on catering industry and the management of universities’canteens from management innovation dimensionality are rare. Therefore, the paper reviewed the management innovation, catering industry management innovation and the management of current situation of universities’canteens, supported by the theory of innovation, theory of customers’ satisfaction degree and theory of stakeholder, based on the empirical research on students’ canteen satisfaction of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, find out the principal contradiction and adopt the advanced management philosophy and innovation theories. The paper investigates the new philosophy, measures and ways for the management of students’ canteen, with the aim of improving the satisfaction of students’ canteen and maintaining the safety and stability of campus.In the empirical research on canteen’s satisfaction degree,400questionnaire surveys were issued to400students,356questionnaire surveys were valid and analyzed the statistics by SPSS.17.0from reliability, validity, factor analysis, analysis of satisfaction degree, analysis of overall satisfaction degree on canteen and the importance and satisfaction of each element of canteen. Through the investigation, we can see that the first thing need to be solved by the manager is the price of food, the second issues are the hygiene, taste, fresh, quantum, nutrition of food and personal hygiene of staff. Meanwhile, attention should be paid on staff’s attitude, canteen’s hygiene, types of food and clean tables and desks in the canteen. In order to improve the canteen’s satisfaction degree, managers should keep eyes on these factors and propose the measures and methods to solve problems. The following are the conclusions after the investigation:1. In order to improve the university students’satisfaction degree of canteen, we should make a breakthrough on the management of universities’ canteen, enhance the research and explore on management innovation, adopt the new ideas and methods to improve canteen’s management, and provide logistical support for universities’ teaching and scientific research.2. Elements of management that influence students’satisfaction on canteens are price, hygiene, taste, fresh, quantum, nutrition and staffs’personal hygiene. Managers should pay more attention to these elements and try to improve service during the management.3. The low satisfaction degree of students to their canteens in Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine reminds the manager should improve the basic management on canteens, enhance the quality of service, strengthen the exchange and communication with the students, and guide the students to treat the rise of food price properly, eliminate the destabilizing factors on campus.
