With the progress of the society and the development of information technology,the education of thedeaf students is attracting more and more attention. However,due to the specificity of the deaf students theordinary teaching methods can not result in expected teaching effects."Visualization",since it wasproposed as a professional term at a symposium held by the National Natural Science Foundation inFebruary1987,has been attracting education researchers’ attention. Visual teaching can concretize andvisualize the teaching contents. For the deaf students of the map reading age,effective use of visualinformation can make up for their own physical limits and improve the learning effect. Visual teachingbecomes the important way of optimizing teaching deaf students.As the deaf students relied on visual information,the designing of visualization of the teaching contentis very necessary. This paper combed summarizes related literature in China and abroad the conditions ofthe education for deaf students,to provide the foundations for the study of resources for the education ofdeaf students.First of all, the paper overviews the deaf students’ psychological characteristics, learningcharacteristics,and their preferred learning content and methods learning through the results of practicalinvestigation,and make an analysis of the demands of visual teaching for deaf students;After the demand analysis,the paper,based on a survey of the present conditions of the application ofvisualized teaching resources,points out some problems existing in it and proposes the correspondingsolutions specifically;Then,the paper discusses the methods of designing visualized teaching resource for deaf studentscombined with their conditions and learning characteristics,under the guidance of theories of multipleintelligences,constructive learning,dual coding knowledge visualization;Finally,according to the designing process,the paper conducts a case design for a specific course ofdeaf students,and applies it into practical teaching. To test the practical application effect,a questionnaireis distributed to six teachers and14students. Feedback from teachers as the educationers can help more accurately understand deaf students’ attitude and opinions on the visual teaching resources. Then the designcan be improved optimized accordingly.
