With the rapid development of multimedia and Internet,human beings have come into “an era of picture-reading”.As the human society has been remodeled by a great deal of image information,accompanied by the surge of visualized information,how to obtain effective information from the complex image information has been a challenge which faces the people today.The ability to interpret the image information has directly influenced people' efficiency of study and life,so the ability to read the images has been a decisive factor for an effective lifelong study and keeping pace with the times.Meanwhile,for those deaf students who receive information depending on visual channel are able to conduct independent study more effectively,in order to achieve the target of lifelong study,which requires stronger picture-reading ability.However,according to the cognitive traits and status survey of deaf students,the deaf students are weak in picture-reading.Based on this situation,this study chooses deaf pupils in some areas of Sichuan as the research object,designed visual resource for developing picture-reading ability and explored the effectiveness of knowledge representation in visual resources,through analyzing the learning characteristics and fundamental cognitive condition of those deaf pupils,in order to provide manufacture method and guidance for those teachers on the front and resource constructors.Firstly,this study has construed the status of the picture-reading ability of the deaf students,put forward some problems for them in the primary schools,interviewed with their teachers in the field and understand the actual situation of primary school students by consulting relevant literature and questionnaires.Secondly,this study has combined Structuralism learning theory,Gestalt theory,Information processing theory and the situation and cognitive traits of the students in some areas of Sichuan,proposing the design principles of visualized resources forpicture-reading ability.And the visualized resources for cultivating image observation,image analysis and understanding have been actualized according to design principles.Thirdly,this study has carried out the relevant experimental researches to verify the effectiveness of the visualized resources with designed training program and picture-reading ability for visualized resources.Finally,the experimental results have been analyzed and discussed.And the Visual representation strategies of interpreting drawings ability of the deaf students are as follows:(1)Knowledge Animation,highlighting,flashing and frame selection are propitious to attracting deaf students' attention.(2)About image observation ability development,visual methods such as Knowledge Animation,Concept Maps and Bubble Map are propitious to developing students' grasp of the focus of the picture.(3)About the image analysis and understanding ability development,visual methods such as Double Bubble Chart,Flow Chart,Multi-Flow Chart are better for reducing student cognitive load.(4)Mind Mapping,Double Bubble Chart,Flow Chart,Multi-Flow Chart are helpful to turn tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge.(5)Flow Chart are helpful to developing deaf students' inductive summary skills.
