In today’s age of information, how students can memorize large amounts ofinformation and apply it to real life, is to be solved in various branches teachingproblems. From geography, graphic transformation ability is the core content ofgeographic information analysis ability, and is also one of bottleneck restrictingstudents to study geography. However, the research relevant to developing studentsthis capacity in teaching process is limited. Therefore, during teaching process insenior high school, developing the capacity of transformation between geographicgraphics and text information has practical significance and theoretical value.This paper focuses on how to develop graphic transformation on the light ofmodern theories of geography teaching, educational psychology and other relevantsciences. It proposes the tactics of how to develop graphic transformation by areview of geographic information, geographic image, graphic conversion, by theanalysis of the investigation on the current situation of geographic conversion ofhigh school student in our country, combined with my internship classes andteaching practice.This study comes to the following conclusions:First, from the result of test and interview, performance in informationperception and extraction are relatively well tested, but analysis and application ininformation are worst than before, which shows high school students informationprocessing ability is weak. And "graphic transformation" is the premise of correctlyinterpreting geographic information, which also indirectly affects the quality andspeed of geographic transformationSecond, in high school, the teachers have poor consciousness on graphictransformation, under the influence of the college entrance examination, the teachingin the classroom trends to the cultivation from the map to text and ignore thecultivation from text to the map and from the map to the other map.Third, according to the factors which affect students’ graphic conversion, thepaper puts forward the method and strategy on from the map to text, from text to themap, from the map to the other map, which provides the basis for the high schoolgeography teacher on graphic transformation.
