The geography learning difficulty is a common psychological problem for senior high school students, which brings about a serious harm to both students and society.Due to the particularity of the geography, the learning difficulty of this subject is becoming a severe challenge putting great pressure on the teaching process. It is hard to improve the quality of geography teaching in senior high school unless some efficient measures to be taken timely. The paper is to find out the inner causes bringing students difficulties in geography leaning, based on which to mouse out the relevant transformation strategies.Taking 3 students who are behind of geography learning from a senior high school in Lintan county, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture as examples, the paper analyzes and summarizes the status quo and the latest development of geography learning difficulty at home and abroad through the literature method; The paper also collects the relevant data about the geography learning difficulty in the case study by observation method and interview method; And the individual cases analysis method has been taken to analyze the students in the case,finding out the causes of the geography learning difficulty. Finally, the paper discusses the strategies of transformation. Based on the result of the case study,the interview and practical teaching experience,the paper summarizes the causes of geography learning difficulty as follows: This paper found the causes of difficulties on geography learning different students is different from a research on case study.This study found four reasons why learning geography is difficult, which combined with teacher's interviews and teaching practice.First, students factor: lacking of interests and motivation; inappropriate methods for learning; lacking of basic knowledge of geography. Second, the teachers factor: outdated teaching methods; not fitting in the curriculum reform; not enough instructions and contacts for both teachers and students.Third, the family factor:lacking of family education; the crack between family and school. Fourth, the subject factor: the difficulty of learning geography; not enough connections between junior school and senior school.For the causes above this paper offered four transformationstrategies: arouse interest, cultivate learning method; pay more attention to family education, enhance the contact between school and family; improve teaching method,pay attention to the contact between students and teachers;consolidate the basic knowledge of geography,rebuild the knowledge system.
