Analysis of test paper is an important part of secondary school examination management. The quality of the examination results, there are test quality, teaching quality, teaching process problems rely on the examination paper analysis solution. The classic response theory in evaluation of paper quality index depends heavily on the sample, and the project characteristic curve of item response theory can solve this problem well, especially in the difficulty and discrimination, independent of the test sample, the major construction of test questions library. This paper will use the item response theory analysis of high school mathematics examination paper from two aspects of quantitative, qualitative, and gives examples of examination paper analysis, provide a reference sample for middle school teachers.This article uses the literature research, comparative research, experimental study of three kinds of research methods. Through literature research, the research status of item response theory at home and abroad, do a comprehensive literature review related analysis of middle school mathematics test. Through comparative study, the item response theory advantages in test analysis, as well as the current middle school mathematics examination paper analysis of deficiencies. By sampling survey method of experimental study, do all of the different levels of the sampling in a high school in a big math test scores, the use of relevant theories, analysis of mathematical statistics, the paper analyzed from two aspects of quantitative and qualitative. Thus, to high school math teacher how to use project theoretical analysis mathematical achievement, how to draw students’ math scores from the data of different grades, and students’ mathematical learning defects, the same score ability judgment did a quantitative analysis, for the teacher to improve the quality of teaching, coaching the students provided favorable conditions.The innovation of this paper lies in the model of item response theory for the difficulty of test paper analysis, degree of differentiation, a numerical comparison and test ability of item response theory value, fully reflect the real level of the students. At the same time, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis combined analysis of papers, a concrete analysis of the test paper to the teacher’s template.
