Analysis Of Chinese Homosexuals’ Situation With Social Identity Perspective

Homosexual phenomenon is not a new thing in China, but the main impression of thegay community has been somewhat negative, and also the observation and recognition ofhomosexuals are relatively less and small. Make a thorough inquiry of homosexuals is theneed of the times. Today, the acceptance of the homosexual in China’s society is beginning toshow a clear differentiation, the self-identity of the gay community have become stronger andstronger. This article aims to study how the homosexuals face the mainstream gender groupsin their emotion, love, marriage and life issues under the circumstance of changing times andmulticultural social atmosphere. Through a comparative study, try to finger out theirpsychological identity, and the complex cause of this social identity and self-identity. Theconcern of the homosexuals is also a need of China’s development of gender diversity.The main research method of this paper combines sociology and cultural anthropology,The main survey is the homosexuals I contact with over the past three years. Through theresearch of the first-hand information can be summed up:1.The self-identity of thehomosexuals is in a long period of repression;2.The emotion of homosexuals is very fragile,likely to cause misfortune;3.Under the form of a heterosexual marriage, most homosexualsbring varying degrees of injury to their sex partner and family. Now we need to reduce thediscrimination and prejudice actively; make more people understand diverse sexualorientation through reasonable channels; improve the tolerance of multiple choices in oursociety, reduce the tragedy of the lacking of understanding.
