A Research On College Students, Consciousness Of Political Participation In The New Era

College students’ consciousness of political participation is the reflections of theirdemands for participating national political life in the field of ideology, which is an importantdimension of citizenship consciousness as well as political qualities of college students.Traditionally, most researches on issues about political participation of college students werefrom perspectives of Politics and Sociology. By contrast, in the new era, facing the conflictsand impacts of multicultural values and interest multiplication, college students have beeninfluenced profoundly in terms of thinking patterns, political values and participationwillingness and psychology. Therefore, it is urgent to value this issue and make further studyfrom the view of ideological and political education at the level of the national security ofideology. However, at present, specialized and systematized researches are still far fromenough. Accordingly, basing on the concepts, connotations and fundamental theories ofcollege students’ consciousness of political participation, this paper aimed at finding the lawsand regular patterns of its formation and development, and attempted to come up with aninnovative structure model reasonably. Furthermore, this research investigated the currentstatus and problems of college students’ consciousness of political participation beforeanalyzing the influencing factors. Finally, in addition to the feasible ways and optimizingmethods of cultivation strategies, this paper further explored the construction and operation offostering mechanism of college students’ consciousness of political participation. There arefour parts in this paper:In the first chapter, the basic connotation of college students’ consciousness of politicalparticipation has been explained. Based on the concepts of consciousness, consciousness ofpolitical participation and college students’ consciousness of political participation, this paperstated the sociality, epochal character, educational value, practicality and expansibility ofcollege students’ consciousness of political participation. Furthermore, I tried to expound thetheoretical bases of this essay which are theories about Marxist Ideology, Marxist YouthScience and Marxist People’s Democracy.In the second chapter, the formation and development of college students’ consciousnessof political participation has been explored. Basing on the objective foundations, historicaldevelopment and formative rules of the consciousness, I tried to establish theTwo-dimensional Mode of college students’ consciousness of political participation.In the third chapter, the current situation of college students’ consciousness of politicalparticipation has been revealed. This paper investigated on college students’ basic knowledge,attitudes, motivations, interest, sense of responsibilities, sense of trust and self-efficacy ofpolitical participation, and then analyzed the existing problems as well as the external& internal causes of this situation.In the fourth chapter, an educational system of college students’ consciousness ofpolitical participation has been proposed. After clarifying the new targets, pursuing values andguiding principles of the educational system, this paper tried to explore on the “GradualMode”,“Integrative Mode” and “Bidirectional Mode” of cultivation of college students’consciousness of political participation. Moreover, the Power-oriented mechanism,Monitoring and early-warning mechanism, and Lifelong-fostering mechanism have beenestablished in this paper.
