Study On The Effect Of Chinese Population Aging On The Commercial Banks Management

In21st century, the population aging sweeps to us, the aging problem isbecoming increasingly prominent. Compared with developed countries, Chinesepopulation aging has its own features,such as aging fast, the elderly population inabsolute quantity, unbalanced regional development,"old before getting rich"and thesignificant trend of aging.The population aging will profound affect all fields of socialeconomy of our country, the commercial banks, as the core part of economic andfinancial, it will be influence hugely.Based on the population aging and commercial bank management theory and thethree major business of the commercial banks,this paper analyze the influence ofChinese population aging on the commercial banks management, the results of thestudy as follows: aging will change the population structure,make the socialdependency ratio rises, thereby change the structure of consumption demand, causeresidents savings rate declines,it is undoubtedly a great challenge to the developmentof commercial banks, commercial banks will face funding problems, owing on theloan default rate rose, the original loan business is hard to develop, strengthen thebanking risks. However, on the other hand,the population aging brings a goodopportunity to the intermediate business of commercial banks, Because aging societywill enhance the financial needs of elderly population greatly, the whole society willalso pay more attention to the personal wealth services.It also provides a goodopportunity for Chinese commercial banks’ Business to change philosophy,whichfrom the traditional assets and liabilities dominated while the intermediate business asa supplement business to pursue the expansion of non-interest income andintermediate business, so that could keep the pace with international commercialbanks.Finally, based on the results of study,this paper puts forward some suggestionsfor commercial banks to deal with the population aging, the commercial banks shouldmake business transformation and customer transformation, add the elderly servicesand pay more attention to the risk management.
