| With the increasingly rapid development of science and technology, competition among countries around the world is becoming fierce, and that has gradually evolved into competition between national talents. This case requires our school to cultivate more and more "complex and personalized" talents. Thus we should pay great attention to the importance of education in China and strive to universalize the quality of education. However, China is a country which has a large population with scarce educational resources. Due to these special national situations, the traditional class teaching system is still the dominant way of teaching in China. It is true that this traditional system of teaching has trained a lot of good talents and improved the efficiency of education. But as times develop, we need continuous educational progress. The traditional class teaching system exposes more and more shortcomings. So we call for a new teaching model:the layer teaching method.With the development of curriculum reform as well as economy and culture, new curriculum standards have been set up in China. The concepts of "education" and "talent" have undergone great changes. More space for its development will be found by combining layer teaching with school resources.This research is based on H Middle School, viewing H Middle School as the object. The study is based on method of action research. It not only relies on the existing cases and experiences in H school, but also on the special investigation of our present education system. The author uses the methods of experimental teaching, questionnaires and work analysis in H Middle School. Furthermore, our students will be surveyed and tested in different stages. It shows that the students’learning abilities are affected deeply by layer teaching on the basis of tests and experiments.The experimental results show:In regards to improvement of scores, the layer teaching method is superior to traditional teaching. It improves the students’learning achievements, efficiency, confidence and students’interest in learning English. It also corrects their learning attitude, and inspires learning motivation. At the same time, it has remarkable positive impact on the entire process of English learning. Compared to traditional teaching, it makes the disparity between levels less; every level in the same class is developed to some extent.This thesis has been discussed, analyzed, and has put forward the suggestions of layer teaching:The principles of layer teaching should be cleared; the diversified evaluation methods should be used in the course of layer teaching; The educational function of layer teaching should be strengthened, the system of layer teaching should be perfected; the quality of teachers should be improved and be trained well and so on. The aim of layer teaching is to narrow the difference between layers, so attentions should be paid to "integration" after teaching and its dynamic changes. Through the implementation of layer teaching, students receive more care and respect from their teachers.As a result, most of the students get high grades and much experience of success in their studies, their interest in English learning is inspired, and their learning efficiency and confidence is enhanced. I hope that this research can provide some contribution to the development of layer teaching in China. |
