As a new kind of electronic media, since came out on January27,2010, the iPadquickly get the favour of children. According to the survey, the proportion of owningiPad has up to72.69%, in the four kindergartens of Shanghai. At the same time, moreand more schools are introducing the iPad into the classroom. Therefore,Investigatingand studying preschool childrens use of the iPad will undoubtedly has a realisticmeaning and theoretical significance to preschool education and preschool childrensfamily education.This article, by means of questionnaire and interviews, obtains a preliminaryunderstanding of preschool childrens basic situation and the status quo of using theiPad, the results indicate: The popularizing rate of iPad in Shanghai is high, pre-schoolchildrens ownership and utilization rate of iPad is high;65.94%of the preschoolchildrens use of time is less than an hour every day,24.89%of the preschoolchildrens use of time is more than one hour every day; Preschool children often useeducational software, learning software and entertainment software, but pre-schoolchildren prefer entertainment software; The intention of the preschool childrensparents to buy an iPad is given priority to "self use" and "entertainment"; Preschoolchildrens parents to the iPads attitude is ignore model, dependent model, refused tomodel, neither dependent on or reject model; Most parents use a variety of directcontrol or indirect control methods to control the use time and type of software; Usetime is an important factor that affects children obvious or not; The iPad may affectpreschool children health, learning, behavior, language, social, cognitive aspects.Possible factors that affect the pre-school children are images, pre-school childrenspsychological development characteristic and study way, the iPad itselfcharacteristics, the use of pre-school children, pre-school childrens parents attitudeto the iPad.
