ennis is a sport with deep cultural heritage and elegant property, it consists with people’s psychological requirements for pursuit of fashion and health, and it has become the main recreational fitness program. At the same time, it is popular with college students who pursue fashion and health, and flourishing in colleges and universities. Now, it is the important content of physical education and extracurricular exercise. But because of the school’s own existing objective conditions, the launching of college tennis do not go well. At present, contradiction between the conditions for the development of the school tennis and college students’growing needs on the tennis is the principal contradiction in the development of the college tennis, how to solve this contradiction is the main problem for various colleges and universities administrators and sports educators.This research mainly uses the literature material law, questionnaire survey method and mathematical statistics, etc. Doing a research on present situation and influencing factors on Xinxiang college tennis elective course, in order to find the problem and find a solution to the problem. This research will be a perfect reference for the development and improvement of Xinxiang college tennis elective course. It will not only promote Xinxiang college tennis elective course better, but also provide the important theoretical reference to the launching of college tennis elective course.The results show that,1. Most of students in four Xinxiang universities like tennis, showing that tennis is very popular with students. The main motivations for the students to take tennis course are to keep fit, hobbies and show ego. It conforms to the positive and energetic personality of contemporary college students. Based on the survey, we found the way that students understand tennis are varies. In the survey of four universities teachers’attitude to tennis elective course, we find that most teachers are serious, responsible, accessible, and fair and have dignified deportment.2. We found through the survey, tennis elective course teachers in these four universities tend to younger age, the teachers’gender distribution is uneven, mostly are men, we need improvement of the gender distribution. Tennis elective course teacher’ qualifications focus on the undergraduate and graduate levels and no doctoral level teachers. The elective course teachers’education levels also need to be further improved. Because tennis elective course teachers tend to be younger, the titles of them are generally not high, mainly in the level of lecturer or assistant.3. Through the survey, the majority of tennis elective course teachers think the tennis teaching venues and facilities can not meet the needs of the teaching. Taking advantage of the winter and summer vacations, we can leased tennis courts for fee. On the one hand, we can use these funds on the care and maintenance of the tennis courts, on the other hand, opening to the community can facilitate mass fitness and compensate for the lack of Xinxiang public venues.4. Discovering through investigation of the elective course teachers’ syllabus, teaching plans, lesson plans and teaching materials, tennis elective course teachers’teaching plan are mainly based on the syllabus. But there are no textbooks for this course.5. More than half of the tennis elective course students think the assessment is unreasonable, it need to be improved. In the survey between traditional sports and emerging tennis, most students choose tennis as their extra-curricular sports activities.
