| Since the implementation of the China’s colleges and universities expansion policy in1999, college entrance examination enrollment and admission rate for14years is of rapid growth. Although the expansion of college to provide more education opportunities for rural students, the difference between urban and rural higher education consumption is not reduced, especially the proportion of elite school for rural students is reducing. Differences between urban and rural consumption of higher education is the result of the dual structure of urban and rural economic structure of Chinas unique results, and it is a historical problem. The dual structure of urban and rural lead to that our city and countryside have great differences in economy, politics, culture, education and other aspects, these differences will directly affect the difference of higher education consumption of urban and rural.Based on the above background, the study uses empirical research methods, taking the urban and rural college students of Weihui city, Henan province as the research object, through the status survey on higher education consumption difference between urban and rural areas, attempts to explore the various factors causing the difference, and finally puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions on how to narrow the differences of higher education consumption between urban and rural.Through investigation and analysis, the main differences between urban and rural areas of higher education consumption in Weihui City, mainly are reflected in the following three aspects:first, the starting point of higher education consumption differences---difference in access to higher education; second, consumption differences---difference in family economy and higher education influence each other; third, the difference between the result of higher education consumption---study, employment differences. Further analysis showed, differences of higher education consumption in urban and rural areas of Weihui city, Henan province have interconnection, starting point difference influence results difference, process difference is biggest etc. In addition, these three differences of higher education consumption of urban and rural areas of Weihui city in Henan province have been enlarging.Analysis the influence factors of differences of higher education consumption between urban and rural of Weihui City, macroscopic factors, the dual structure of urban and rural areas, the household register system, education institute and policy, basic education, the employment situation are the main influence factors of higher education consumption of urban and rural difference; microscopic factors, economic capital:annual household disposable income, educational expenditure ratio, can mainly influence the the starting point and results differences of higher education consumption; social capital:parents’ profession have significant effect on higher education consumption differences throughout the entire process, and to effect basic education differences between urban and rural; cultural capital:has the influence of parents’educational mainly effect the starting point difference and process differences of higher education consumption, family cultural atmosphere mainly influence the starting point difference of higher education consumption between urban and rural; personal effects:the main university motivation mainly influence the starting point difference of higher education consumption between urban and rural.According to the differences of higher education consumption in Weihui city, Henan Province, this study suggests that, it should be narrow the difference of higher education consumption between urban and rural areas from the macroscopic and the microscopic aspects. Specifically, the macroscopic aspects:to reform the education institute, to speed up the development of rural education; to optimize the allocation of resources, to improve the quality of rural basic education; to broaden the channels of employment, to improve the rural students employment; to develop all kinds of education, to increase rural opportunities. The microscopic aspects:to accelerate the development of the rural economy, to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas; to development rural area lifelong education, to improve the cultural quality of the farmers; to correct University motivation, to improve their own qualities. |
