By the reference to relevant documentaries, as well as by abstracting the definitions of voluntary service made by parts of the scholars, I have studied and conceived a depth interview which targets at eight college students who have the experience of voluntary services, and I have carried out interview on the staff and leaders of the department of volunteer organization (Hubei Youth Volunteers Guidance Center).I have chosen several universities in Hubei province to carry out my survey, including a total of10universities. I have adopted a method of non-probability sampling that distributes questionnaires to50students per school. All the valid questionnaires have been checked and corrected, then, imputed into computer. I used SPSS17.0software for statistical analysis. This paper, from the respective of social work and combining with databases, aims at studying the relationship between management mode of college student voluntary service organization and the internalization of their motivation and spirits of volunteer service.According to my survey:the motivations are divided into two dimensions—altruistic mo is no significant difference of motivations of different educational backgrounds and different majors, so are the different family backgrounds. However the motivations of students who have ever served as the student cadres or not shows a significant difference in general.Through an analysis of the research on college students’motivation for participating voluntering, the author attempts to point out several problems. These include the flawed n ational legislation concerning volunteering, the inadequate public knowledge of volunteeri ng and volunteers, and the imperfect system and regulations on training university volunte ers, which fail to apply to volunteering work a series of scientific methods and techniques provided by professional social work institutions. On account of all this, the following proposals are offered. First, tailor volunteering w ork for college students based on their features, making it accord with the motives of univ ersity volunteers. Second, the government should unveil more favorable polices and enhan ce publicity through new media. Third, the incentive mechanism should be improved. It sh ould give full consideration to students’ egoistic motives and appropriately add some incen tives on personal benefits. Fourth, stop volunteering work from taking the principle of pro ximity or formalism and pay more attention to the altruistic motives of volunteers, and the n expand the scale of volunteering work. Fifth, encourage students to involve more in stud ent work, to enhance their leadership and teamwork spirit while serving all the students. Fi nally, inspire the students majoring social work to employ their expertise in taking volunte ering activities. More suggestions are possibly available.
