Along with the implementation of the reform and opening up policy, he economic and social in Vietnam has been rapidly developing in years. But, the backward education is becoming one of the most serious problems, even an obstacles in economic and social development. In the education development process, Vietnam has obtained a lots of achievements, but there are still many problems in it. If these problems are not be resolved, they will make undesirable impacts on the country’s overall development. Therefore, the study of the changing trends of the education policy in Vietnam and analysis the reasons, also the next move in the future, has became a very important and necessary work.According to the different characteristics, the education policy in Vietnam can be generally divided into five periods:Feudal and Colonial period; from Independence Day to the Victory of the First Resistance War period; Years of Temporary Separation period;10years of Pre-reform period; and twenty years of Reform period. In this stage, Vietnam has made a lots of education policy reform, such as:the establishment of balance in education system; first step conducting socialize education reform... These policy reforms achieved some results, but there are still more insufficient, such as:the lack of education facilities; low level of education; lack of teacher resource and so on.In order to help solving these problems, this paper studies on both subjective and objective causes that lead to such unsufficient in Vietnam education policy, then attempt to discuss about the next step of education reform in Vietnam. The paper argued that, increasing financial investment; innovating education concept; strengthen revolution, socialization and internationalization policies..., are effective ways to solve the problems in the current education system in Vietnam.
