The hermeneutics philosophy has post-modern characteristics there were on the rise in the West during the1960s, it mainly focus on the problems of modern society on a philosophical level. The course "Understanding" uses the philosophy of hermeneutics to study a chosen topic, during which profound knowledge is gained on this system. In this paper the high school musical courses are researched using the concepts thought during the "Understanding" course, these courses are analyzed from both a theoretical and practical point of view in regards to the reform of the musical curriculum within China. With the notions learned during the "Understanding" course, the current state of affairs as well as the future of the music curriculum are analyzed, which can be divided in three questions, What are the developing trends in China’s "Understanding" in music Classes, Why should we pay attention to the "Understanding" in music classes, How can we develop the concept "Understanding" in music classes. This article is based on the concept of hermeneutics and starting from the basics of the course we investigate the what the current situation is, what kind of methods are adopted by the teachers and students, which notions within in the classroom and education really allow for the development of the "Human" and "Art". This research does not aim to create one fixed method of study, rather it seeks to find a new kind of teaching vision and philosophy, a kind of teaching based on cultural value, in addition to the technical teaching, which gives the music courses a new meaning, giving it a human touch. The author used existing research in combined with interview, questionnaires, and classroom observations to build an understanding of the musical education in high schools and how it works in practice. This research is presented in four parts;:First is the introduction, which explains the reasons for doing the research, the concepts of the education, the current status of music education both in China as well as abroad, the methods and techniques of the research, and the significance of this paper.Second is vision of the musical education in high schools from a historical point of view. From the holistic view of the hermeneutics philosophy, and a review from the past hundred years of musical education of China to present day, which includes the influences on this teaching such as political, cultural, and educational. Finally it also analyzes the developing trends, which are also influenced by the aforementioned factors.Third is the concept of understanding transformation on the middle school music teaching. From the microscopic point to explain "understand" the meaning of course thought, nature characteristics, examine the basic trends of the middle school music curriculum reform, summed up the revelation of the "understanding" of course thinking of the music curriculum.Fourth is the construction and teaching strategies under the "understanding" course of secondary school music curriculum. Mainly from the issues raised by the interpretation and course status from the first three levels of "understanding", from the point of view on the concept of "understanding" of "cultures","individual differences" and "dialogue mode-teaching content, teaching methods, teaching and learning environment, teacher-student relationship and teaching evaluation five aspects to give rise to build a music classroom teaching strategies.
