The employment flow of migrant workers has become an important economic and socialphenomenon in the process of transition from traditional agricultural society to modernindustrial society in China. In the context of social transformation and in the process ofcarrying forward of industrialization, urbanization and agricultural modernization in ourcountry in phase, the demand of long-term stable and rapid economic development forlabor resources continues to increase, the large-scale population flow phenomenon in acertain period will certainly persist. At the same time, the education problem of urbanmigrant children is increasingly outstanding and this makes extensive attention of thegovernment, society and scholars.With the constant improvement of relevant policies in our country, when urban migrantchildren go to school in the city, They successively experienced the progress of rejection,independently solve and limited acceptance. National medium and long-term educationreform and development plan outline (2010-2020) put forward the idea of insist of thegovernment of input fields is given priority to manage and the full-time public primary andsecondary school is given priority to ensure urban migrant children equally accept thecompulsory education". The central and local government issued policies to ensure urbanmigrant children and local students to enjoy the same treatment and this eases the difficultyof the problem of migrant children going to school. For most migrant workers, however,the problem of their trailing children’s compulsory education is still not beenfundamentally solved and it is difficult to enjoy the real sense of fair education and qualityeducation.This article bases on the example of economic relatively developed Shenzhen city,Guangdong province and on current policy background and the basic situation, uses theliterature method, survey method and interview method, collects relevant data and researchresults, research the current situation of compulsory education of the urban migrantchildren under the background of the new policy, in-depth analysis of the existing mainproblems and causes of compulsory education of the urban migrant children, draws lessonsfrom foreign experience, and on this basis this article puts forward countermeasures andsuggestions about the government responsibility, the security of funds, school principalsand education mode, etc. to solve the problem of the education of urban migrant children.
