In recent years, with the accelerating pace of globalization of economic development, the increasing social demands urgently requires colleges and universities to provide a large number of Inter-disciplinary talents, so the main and minor system was introduced to China. Compared with the traditional single professional training model, the main and minor system has the incomparable great advantage. However, during the years of the system had been running, there are still exist many problem—form the system level to specific teaching management, teaching quality monitoring and other issues. Therefore, in the process of reform of the personnel training system, how to perfect the design of the main and minor system, innovative teaching management mode, and effectively improve the quality of talent cultivation, has become an urgent problem. This study mainly adopts the literature analysis, policy research and interviews and other methods. First of all, the author makes a detailed combing on a large number of relevant research literature which can provide a more detailed and profound cognition about the present situation of implementation of the main and minor system both at home and abroad; then, analyze the main and minor system management approach of our colleges and universities, supplemented by interviews with some minor professional students,and teachers, to have a holistic grasp on settings and the status of implementation about the main and minor system in our country.On the basis of Chinese and foreign literature compare, policy analysis and empirical research, the papers can be divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction, Departure from the background, the purpose and significance of the research, described the ideas, methods and innovation on the basis of the literature review; The second part is mainly through the definition of the paper’s core concept, analysis of the generated background, history and prospects of the main and minor system in our country, to discuss the formation and development of the system comprehensively; The third part of the paper discusses the status of implementation of the main and minor system, mainly through the four aspects to analysis the main and minor system, such as training objectives, system, process and evaluation, and have a detailed analysis on teaching management, learning state and effectiveness, performance evaluation and social acceptance,etc. IV part mainly discusses the problems and deep causes which have been encountered in the process of the implementation of the main and minor system in colleges and universities currently; The fifth part is aimed at the questions before, give the improvement countermeasures and suggestions, including the improvement of the system, the optimization of the operating environment, management mode innovation and strengthen education quality monitoring system, etc.The innovation of this study is that from the point of view of system, take a comprehensive and profound analysis of research on the current domestic main and minor system itself as well as the training mode of operation situation; and put forward the targeted system improvement initiatives, optimize its operating environment; Meanwhile, this paper also made a new idea and strong feasibility proposal for the problems that appear in the process of teaching management and quality control in the main and minor system.
