An Ancient Academy is a special education organizational form of China’s feudal society. It began inthe tang dynasty, blossomed in the Song dynasty, which played an important role in the Ancient personneltraining and social enlightenment. Prestigious YingTianfu Academy was known as one of the early fourfamous Academies in the Song dynasty. It evolved on the basis of South-Capital school (Nan duo xue she)in the later Jin dynasty which was founded by Yang Hu. After thousands of years of development, it createda lot of success. This paper will show the original appearance of Ying Tian-fu Academy which includinghistory, school building, books, sources of funding and other historical overview. This paper primarilyfocuses on the discussion of a series education activities of Ying Tian-fu Academy. And try to draw lessonsfrom history, making the past serve the present, use the reference for today’s higher education reform anddevelopment.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is a brief analysis corresponding to the historical background of the YingTianfuAcademy in order to better understanding the historical value of its foundation. Ying Tian-fu Academy’sgeneration has its specific historical background, mainly due to the early Song "Youwen" policy guidance.The main specifically: First, the rulers actively promote the process of the College; second, many scholarsteach their apprentices draw the supporting from it; third, the Academy relied on the Neo-Confucianism toachieve rapid development.The second part is in allusion to the layout of the building and the history. Basing on a variety ofhistorical records, using time for the baseline, this paper briefly combs the basic condition of the buildingof the Millennium universities and various historical stages of development for showing the rising and fallin the history of YingTianfu Academy.The third part is the corresponding analysis of the organization and management of the YingTianfuAcademy, including the College of ministry settings, the financing, collection, and festival.The fourth part is focused on YingTianfu Academy’s teaching activities corresponding, respectively, tobe described in terms of the purpose and content of teaching, teaching methods and teaching management.The teaching purpose is to cultivate the statecraft talented. The main teaching content is Confucianism and encyclopedia. It uses "Shengtang" teaching, the students’ self-learning and instructor-combination, which isa combination of different teaching methods and researches. The admission to cancel the portal restrictions,break the factions barriers, which are corroborated by rules of learning made by Qi Tongwen and FanZhongyan.The fifth part is a brief introduction about the teachers who have made important contributions, suchas Qi Tong wen, Fan Zhong yan, etc. And the paper is also introducing the well-known disciples such asSun Fu, Shi Jie.The sixth part is of the analysis of impact on future generations, including the recognition of thescholars on the historical status and roles. The praise for the Academy is from tablets and poems.
