The development of new curriculum reform has required more and more on students’ learningstyle and teachers’ teaching methods. According to our country elementary education curriculum reformoutline, it is important to develop the students’ autonomous learning ability under the new curriculumreform. As the senior high school is a vital period for adolescents to grow up into adults and to foster theirautonomy. Teachers in the senior high school become to regard the cultivation of autonomous learningability as an important task.Papers in subject education, constructivism, the zone of proximal development theory, usingautonomous learning theory into the geography discipline. In reference to the students autonomy scalequizzes of Pang Weiguo and the middle school students’ autonomous learning of teachers’ teachingbehavior of the corresponding evaluation research by Shan Zhiyan, questionnaire on middle schoolstudents’ autonomous learning in later. Compiled the "geography for middle school students autonomouslearning ability questionnaire", and the high school students by questionnaire survey, to obtain first-handinformation. Using the Spss17.0software to test the validity of the data, questionnaire survey resultsshowed that: High school students overall ability of autonomic learning in the medium level; High schoolstudents lack of learning motivation in learning, self consciousness, value consciousness and self-efficacyis low, students lack of self-confidence; Can not effectively use learning strategies, to knowledgeorganization; Girl’s autonomous learning ability is slightly higher than boys, but the difference was notsignificant.Reference according to current situation of high school geography in front of autonomouslearning, the teaching mode of autonomous learning home and abroad, combined with relevant educationexperts, high school geography teachers and the author’s teaching experience and teaching students theactual situation, the author constructs the teaching model is suitable for students’ autonomous learning, Andcontrast "the traditional teaching mode" and "autonomous learning teaching mode" experiment in twoparallel class. Experimental results show that: Before the experiment, two classes grades fairly; After theexperiment, the experimental class student’s geography achievement score is higher than that incomparative classes, seven dimensions of self-study in experimental classes scores were higher than that in comparative classes, students’ learning attitude, concepts and behavior have a obvious change. Indicatesthat autonomous learning teaching mode in improving student achievement and cultivate students’autonomous learning ability is superior to the traditional teaching mode. On the questionnaire surveyresults and learning problems of students in the process of the experiment, the author puts forward themeasures of cultivating the ability of autonomous learning, stimulate students’ learning motivation; Guidestudents to develop a plan of learning; Improve the students’ learning strategies level; To strengthenstudents’ self evaluation and summary; Increase the learning resources, through these measures to improvethe students’ autonomous learning ability. The innovation of this paper:First, based on the problems existing in the course of studentswhich is suitable for students build autonomous learning mode, more targeted and effectiveness;Second, uses the method of combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, questionnaire investigation andexperiment method, the results more scientific.
