New media is an important teaching means of modern education, many countries pay more attention to the new media and education combined. New media technology at this stage of the powerful functions in support of senior high school geography classroom teaching plays an important role in the smooth development, all-round development of students and lifelong learning also calls for rational use of new media, such as to complete the task of teaching efficiency, but also can meet the students’ needs and psychological needs, the implementation of the geography curriculum so as to better the three-dimensional target. This paper shows through the new media in the application of advantage and application of high school geography teaching, in order to provide reference for the new media to carry out the geography teaching technology for high school geography teachers and students with the help of.In this paper, the new media teaching high school geography as the starting point, involves the following aspects: first, the introduction of the research background significance, summarizes the research status at home and abroad; second, new media assisted teaching of high school geography.
