Along with China’s international status has been rising in theworld,Chinese traditional culture also had spread around the worldthrough different channels. Especially in2008held in Beijing OlympicGames, The artistic charm of traditional culture get play to t.heextreme,and set off a wave of popular Chinese wind around theworld.Designers in the folk art itself contains the moral of the in search ofinspiration. At present, it is necessary to intervene in the Chinesetraditional culture in the modern design, Western culture on the basis ofthe Oriental culture fusion, the modern pop elements blend into in the oldelements, then set up a strong and beautiful bridge between theseelements, form the resultant force which is not been broken up, whichprovide inspiration and aesthetic experience for our product’s creation. Inthe current trend of globalization, countries and cultural exchanges ismore and more intimate, so to we should keep the characteristics of ournation itself at the same time in the Chinese traditional culture in order tomake the Chinese style to the world. Based on the research of traditional culture, this paper analyzed theelements symbols that it contains and elaborate the application of thefootwear design shape in traditional culture. The author has investigatedand discussed the status of shoe design students in the university. Andanalyzed what qualities the footwear design students shouldhave.combined with in today’s social market need for in-depthunderstanding, as we explain the footwear design students should havewhat kind of quality to meet the challenge.This paper expounds the connotation and development of traditionalculture, and lists some representative traditional symbols of elements intraditional Chinese culture, make a preliminary analysis on use thetraditional elements in the design through some cases which footwear inseveral Colleges.We found that some of the design of using traditionalculture just a simple pattern of copy. if we want to make the shoe industrya steady foothold in the market for a long time,traditional culture mustintegrate into the footwear design,How to make students more deeply realize the traditional cultureconnotation novelty and works with the traditional footwear in theprocess of instruction, it is worthy to think when we design the teaching,it is also the focus on solving the problem in the fourth chapter. Thischapter mainly from the curriculum into the traditional culture knowledgeare discussed in this paper through two aspects of culture. First of all, adding proper content of theory of traditional culture in terms ofcultural courses, such as the university language curriculum for theintervention of Confucian culture. Finally, according to the application of traditional culture in the footwear design, summarizes the importance of traditional culture inthe footwear design. Mainly based on some influential cases that usetraditional elements in the footwear design (such as sports shoes for the2008Beijing Olympic Games by the creation of),and for the domesticfootwear designers influence events case.(such as the AOKANGcup).This part mainly tells us to test design method with the designpractice, so as to realize the value of design.
