To ensure the consistence between teaching and the development of knowledge,curriculum development is an endless process in our education. Curriculumdevelopment can provide guidance for high quality teaching. Since the new century,the reform of advanced vocational education courses is thriving. But as thecomplexity of curriculum itself and the curriculum idea, curriculum development isthe important and difficult part of the higher vocational curriculum reform.As an important part of the higher vocational education, higher vocationalaccounting education assumes the responsibility for cultivating technology-applyingtalents on economy management for society. The development of the higheraccounting vocational curriculum system should be independant of general educationcourses and take students’ vocational ability and overall qualities improvement as atarget. Curriculum development must be based on the working practice, which startsfrom courses construction, namely the professional analysis. Meanwhile, courseconstruction should exactly corresponds with job market needs, integratescurriculum resources, constructs and implements the project course, perfectscurriculum evaluation system, improves teachers’ teaching ability and encouragesteachers to participate in curriculum development.The author puts forward some explores on the construction ofcompetence-based curriculum development of accountant major. This paper isdivided into five aspects: the first part introduces the background, status of thisresearch, method of writing, ideas and the significance of the study. Next partillustrates relevant basic theories on competence-based education and curriculumdevelopment, including concept of competence, competence-based education,curriculum, curriculum development and lists the four basic theories of curriculumdevelopment. The third part points out the necessity of competence-based curriculumdevelopment of accountant major in four aspects. The forth part takes the highervocational technology school–L as a research subject, and analyzes the current situation of the higher vocational accountant major curriculum system in severalaspects by the method of interview and individual case investigation. Last but notleast, the author herself puts forward the method of developing curriculumof accountant major in higher vocational education in several aspects, such asfundamental analysis of curriculum, construction of curriculum system, courseresource and teaching.
