With the continuous development of society, education has gradually become the focus of attention,some people even put forward the education is the first line of the country.Geography education is attracting more and more attention.In1992the International Geographical Union Education Commission promulgated the "International Charter on Geography Geography Education, geography education gets attention all over the world.Chinese basic education curriculum reform has been carried out for10years, at this time researching analyzing geographic information as one of geography subject ability of high school students is of great significance.Geography subject ability is applying geographical discipline knowledge and geographical point of view to the actual situation,which developed, and analyzing geographic information is one of the important components. This paper tries to under the development trend of the international geography education, guided by the geography new curriculum reform concept in our country, investigating and analyzing the actual situation of our country high school students ability to analyze geographic information, combined with geographical curriculum at home and abroad on the programmatic document and theoretical achievement to the analysis of geographic information ability, using literature reading method, the analysis and comparison method, theoretical exploration study high school students the ability to analyze the geographic information.This paper summarizes the analyzing geographic information and the research results of the high school students ability to analyze geographic information, points out the deficiencies and problems existing in the current research about high school students ability to analyze geographic information, and identifies research perspective and framework.This paper analyses the meaning of geographic information sources, summarizes several common geographic information sources, and classifies and describes them.This paper summarizes the analysis methods of geographic information from different point:summarizes the analysis methods of geographical perceptual knowledge and rational knowledge from the different knowledge category; summarizes the analysis methods of geographic images and text information from different sources, the analysis methods of geographic image class is the key.This paper argues that analyzing geographic information is one of the important ability of high school students to know and learn geography.Cultivating high school students’ability to analyze geographic information,should develop high school students’the ability of getting geographic information,the ability of settling geography information,the ability of statistics and classification geography information, the ability of explaining and evaluating geography information.
