A new round of curriculum reform in China has entered its tenth year in2013. Withlanguage elective in a area of the country to open it’s anticipated."The application of thelanguage" as a member of the high school Chinese elective course, also become the focus ofresearch. In this paper "the application of the language" elective course as the research core,discusses the background of curriculum, the basis of curriculum construction and curriculumdevelopment strategies, the analysis of the corresponding part in the college entranceexamination, and takes textbook of People’s Education Press as example used to explore “theapplication of the language” elective textbooks,in order to obtain a valuable feedback to themajority of teachers teaching ideas and to facilitate students’ learning.The first chapter describes the background of elective courses. Based on practical needs,examine the world of mother-tongue education features, and recall the history of ancientlanguage education in China. The second chapter has a brief description of Gardner’s multipleintelligences theory and constructivist learning theory, and discusses the significance oftheory to draw the construction of the course. The third chapter is the main part,introducesthe course from three parts of the course objectives, teaching strategies,curriculum evaluationand the specific components of curriculum development. The current high school languageteaching do not get rid of the affects of the "the college entrance examination", forced by thepressure, there is a need to analysis the question of the examination matched the electivecourse. The fourth chapter from this perspective, according to the ability level of theexamination syllabus requirements, firstly outlines the whole picture of the examination, andthen inspects the different abilities of questions. The fifth chapter is concerned the study ofteaching material, and makes "the application of the language" textbook of People’sEducation Press as example parse the content of the textbooks. The third chapter ofcurriculum development is regarded as the core in the paper, the first chapter and the secondare concerned in the course of practical and theoretical basis separately; the last two chaptersas a supplement, deals with the examination and teaching materials, the whole paper becomesa system of five chapters.
