In the ninety s of the20th century, our country put forward to build a domestic research universities, many colleges and universities will be the construction of research university as its goal. Research university teachers team construction in the construction of school development in a very prominent position, and become an important development strategy research university in our country, to improve the teachers level, to build in hiring and promotion as the main body of the personnel system and to pay wages and benefits as the core system, and establish and improve the training system construction, etc, made a lot of effort, also made a lot of achievements, make the teachers level had improved obviously, improve the teachers’work enthusiasm.Due to the lack of incentive mechanism of China’s research universities, resulting in a decline in school to attract excellent talents from teaching, a large number of brain drain, research university teachers did a lot of impact. Facing the new situation for international development, the domestic incentive mechanism of the higher education to research university constantly reflection, how to promote the reform of research university teacher incentive mechanism, establish effective excitation mechanism become the common concerns for education administrators, the theory researchers a hotspot, especially research university human resources management system to build one aspect can not be ignored.This research attempts to from the characteristic of teachers demand research universities and research universities in China, the paper introduced the development of research university teacher incentive mechanism and change, combined with the incentive theory, puts forward some views and research university teacher incentive mechanism problem. This research altogether is divided into six parts:the first part is the introduction, the content including the research background and research significance, domestic and foreign research review, research content and main research methods; The second part is a university teacher incentive mechanism, research universities, and research and related theory, the concept of respectively introduced the research university, research university teachers, and the connotation of incentive mechanism concept; The third part is the research universities some of the current incentive system and institutional change situation, problems of incentive mechanism analysis of research universities, and find the causes of the problem; The fourth part introduces the three countries of the United States, Canada, Japan, some teachers in colleges and universities incentive system, the construction of research university teacher incentive mechanism in China has a strong reference value. The fifth part is to build the research university teachers motivation mechanism principle, the framework of incentive and incentive mechanism operation mode in general analysis, including building principle, framework, incentive mechanism, incentive mechanism operation mode and research university teachers performance appraisal content. The sixth part is the research university teachers in China are put forward the concrete measures of incentive mechanism to run efficiently.
