The physical education is an indispensable important part of school education,which not only plays an irreplaceable role to cultivate all-round development ofsocialist builders, but also has a unique role in the formation of students’ attitudetowards life, emotion and value. Physical education of the poor western region is theweak link in the basic education of China. Physical education is weak in the weak. Soit is urgent that the work of strengthening the physical education of the poor westernregion. In February2012, the State Council approved the “western development12thFive-Year Plan”, which will certainly promote the further development of the westerneconomy and society. In the new period, the poor western region must seize thisgolden opportunity, develop the economy, at the same time strengthen schooleducation and physical education, and constantly improve the level of health of youngstudents, to make them grow up healthily.In this paper, based on the national stage in Chinese western region of povertycounty Nileke, physical education present situation of primary and secondary schoolas the research object, through the literature material method, questionnaire method,expert interview method, mathematical statistics method and so on, analyze thephysical education, PE teachers,extracurricular sports activities, sports equipment of41primary and secondary schools in county Nileke. At the same time, explore theproblems and difficulties of physical education of primary and secondary schools, andput forward constructive suggestions, so as to provide theoretical basis for thephysical education development of the poor western region.The result shows that:1. The number of PE teachers of primary and secondary school in Nileke county isserious insufficient, age and gender is imbalance. The academic structure accords with the national about primary and secondary school teacher education, butprofessional structure is low, the workload is too heavy,the wage is basicallynormal, but the pay is low per classroom hour. And it is less for the opportunity toparticipate in training and continuing education.2. The course is general, most of the schools can teach according to the standards ofphysical education and health, but in part of the schools the teaching quality is nothigh,in which there are no teaching plans and the teaching is optional.3. The extracurricular sports are not optimistic, most of the schools extracurricularsports activities time is less than an hour.4. The sport equipment lacks seriously, and most of the schools are without fundingfor maintenance or supplement.5. Most of the primary and secondary schools in county Nileke provide the studentphysique measuring instruments, can pay attention to and organize the studentphysical measurement, meanwhile report students’ physical measurement datacarefully.
