Gymnastics course is the backbone of the high school physical education,and the scientific and reasonable arrangement of gymnastics teaching contentis an important means which can help physical education teachers to fulfillthe teaching objective. Since the gradually increase of the subjectcurriculum and reduce of the technical curriculum in the teaching reformof physical education curriculum over the years, the teaching hours ofgymnastics course decrease step by step. And because of the emergence ofthe new curriculum which overemphasize the systematic cness of curriculumand the integrity of teaching content, the gymnastics teachers are difficultto adapt to.The thesis makes the gymnastics course of some Nanjing NormalSchool on the premise of New Curriculum as the study object. One middle schooland one high school are randomly taken from each area in the six areas (Xuanwu area, Baixia area, Gu lou area, Xia guan area, Jian ye area, Qin huaiarea) of Nanjing,and it makes the physical education teachers and studentsas the research object in order to deeply and versatilely study thegymnastics course of some Nanjing Ordinary Secondly Schools and analyze theestablishment and imperfection of teaching content in gymnastics course.The thesis studies and analyzes the gymnastics teaching content, therequirements of the new curriculum and its imperfection by the means ofsearching literature, survey, mathematical statistics, comparativeanalysis, and logical analysis. Through the research, it reaches thefollowing preliminary conclusions:Firstly, the highlight of gymnastics teaching content in some NanjingOrdinary Secondary School has been transferred from the concept which ismajored in athletics to the guiding ideology of “Lifetime Sports”, butthe target of gymnastics teaching content is far from the target of the newcurriculum.Secondly, it is limited in the professional capacity of the gymnasticsteachers in some Nanjing Ordinary Secondary School, and there are morenon-gymnastics professional teachers. In order to improve the students’ psychological quality and physical quality, it needs to introduce moreprofessional gymnastics teachers.Thirdly, the gymnastics teachers in some Nanjing Ordinary SecondlySchools do not understand the new curriculum deeply, and some even do notunderstand. Therefore, the gymnastics teachers in Secondary Schools needto strengthen the understanding about the new curriculum, so as to reachthe new curriculum requirements as far as possible.
