This paper studies Emotional Climate of the college students’ dormitory, which is a newresearch field.Now,more and more tasks or goals should completed by a team or group.Thoseteams just like the basketball team, football team, research team.Groups of college students’dormitory is a special reality groups. We can find that some relaxed individual back to thedorm becoming very nervous, cautious; Some depressed individuals back to the dorm toforget unpleasant things, mingle with other roommates. So what causes this phenomenon?Reference to the relevant literature, we found that besides individual’s personality traits,theemotional climate of the dormitory also affect individual’s mood.My research target is freshman to senior students who live in school dormitory.Usingquestionnaire, interview, content analysis and factor analysis to explore the structure ofdormitories emotional climate, then work out the Emotional Climate of College DormitoryQuestionaire. Through a large-scale survey, investigate the status of the dormitories’emotional climate, Then Analyze the relationship between dormitory’s emotionalclimate,college students’ coping styles and subjective happiness.The conclusions of thisstudy is as following:1. The emotional climate of the college students’ dormitory mainly positive emotionalclimate.Emotional climate in girls’ dormitory is more positive than in boys’dormitory.Dormitory with only3people present more security, pleasant and unityatmosphere,.There is no grade, ethnic and professional differences of dormitory’s emotionalclimate.2.Investigating students’ coping style,I found that Girls than boys prefer to ask help,One-child use more fantasy, rationalization coping styles than none-only child. There is nograde, specialty and ethnic differences of coping style.3. Students’ overall life satisfaction level is middle, positive emotions and negativeemotions high. The one-child’s life satisfaction is significantly higher than non-only child.Boys showed mor negative mood than girls. Engineering students showed more negativemood than the other majors.Sophomore and senior students showed more positive emotionsand negative emotions than the other grades. There is no ethnic difference of SubjectiveWell-being.4. The dormitory emotional climate,coping styles and Subjective Well-being aresignificantly pairwise correlation.Emotional climate and coping styles affect subjectivewell-being.The coping style of solving problem regulate dormitory emotional climate andstudent subjective well-being.
