New faculty is a special sort, they get their PhD from universities. meanwhile they getthe job in the universities. We definite it as a sort which with supply and demand. Thisorganizational structure due to a closed system. In this system new faculty will beinfluenced by the change of the supply and the demand. In the past20years, the numberof doctorates increases rapidly in the world which breaks the balance between the supplyand demand. A surplus of PhD appear in America and Japan which prevent doctoratescome into academic profession smoothly. As same as other countries, the number ofdoctorates increases rapidly in china since1999, but on the other hand, the demand ofnew faculty is decreasing generally because of the end of the policies of expanding collegeenrollment and evaluation of undergraduate education. This study aim to demonstratewhether the changes would lead to the imbalance between supply and demand of newfaculty in china. In this study, I used literature methods and historical comparison. on the basis of anstudy of academic labor market characteristics, I construct a analytical model of newteachers by type of supply and demand situation changes. At the nest step,I study NewTeachers historical evolution of supply and demand and factors that influence it. Thendetermine the pattern of supply and demand. At last, I discuss concrete measures toachieve a balanced supply and demand. The conclusion of this study as fellow: Academiclabor market with high-end, stability, discipline and hierarchy of four characteristics. Newfaculty living in the bottom of the academic profession and with one of the characteristicsof supply and demand side. The supply of new faculty recruited by the entrance standard, the number of scale of doctoral graduates, doctoral degree-of-service ratio, the number ofoverseas returning Ph.D., and Dr. willingness to enter the academic profession and otherfactors. The demand for new faculty is limited by the age structure of existing teachers, academic career stability, college and university level expansion function transformationand other factors.China’s actual situation is that new teachers in colleges and universitiessupply side, the number of doctoral continued to rise, increasing the number of overseas returning Ph.D., job doctorate gradually reduced the number of Chinese universities andother factors have led to new teachers continued growth in the quantity supplied. At thesame time, China’s expansion policy termination college, undergraduate teachingevaluation work is over, the age structure of existing teachers also showed morphologicalfactors such as the young, making the demand for new teachers colleges and universitiesare no longer strong. The continued growth of supply and demand will result inever-shrinking supply and demand for new teachers in Chinese Universities oversupply inthe direction towards the development of the university to become the buyer of theacademic labor market. Although this change will help universities strengthen the teachingstaff, has led to the entry of new teachers colleges and universities to enhance thethreshold, the treatment reduced the entry, career stability decreases, the domesticenvironment for the survival, Dr. worsening and thus will produce outstanding doctoralacademic career from the "escape" and other adverse effects. To achieve balance betweensupply and demand of new teachers college, first to control the scale of closed doctoraltraining, expanded accordingly to meet the market needs of the professional scale oftraining Dr.; secondly, to encourage service teacher education, in-service teachers toenhance the doctorate recipients in proportion; finally, improve the academic professionitself metabolic function, improve teachers’ exit mechanism.
