The author worked in St. Joseph Koh Samui school in Thailand as a Chinesevolunteer teacher from May2012to March2013. in the process of teaching, theauthor found that, because of the differences in Thai culture, school education,students’ different learning needs and characteristics, there are practical problems inthe application of design theory of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in juniormiddle schools in Thailand..In the base of the theory of second language acquisition and instructionaldesign theory of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the background of thecurrent situation of Chinese teaching in Thailand, and the instructional needs、instructional content and the student’s characteristic, this paper discuss Chineseteaching design in Thailand junior middle schools, Chinese teachers how to usedesign theory to guide their Chinese teaching activities, choose suitable teachingmethods for Thailand middle school students, develop perfect teaching design,optimize teaching skills.Most of the research in teaching Chinese as a foreign language now are mainlandresearch and focus on theory, the research on application is few. Based on the researchof Chinese teaching before, this paper takes Chinese teaching in St. Joseph KohSamui school as an example, design teaching activities, records implementationsituation, evaluate teaching effect, and then discusses how to guide Chinese teacher’steaching combined design theory. Hope to provide some references for teachingChinese as a foreign language workers and other researchers.
