This study adopts relevant theories of social support and school belongingness asguidance. Based on the systematic sampling method, the writer conducts a survey with251full-time undergraduate students of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Bymeans of multivariate statistical analysis, the author discusses in detail the relationshipbetween social support and school belongingness within college students. Furthermore, thesocial-support effect of different aspects on school belongingness is analyzed in depth, inorder to clearly present the complex relations between social support of different levels andschool belongingness. The results show that: Firstly, in general, there exists an obvious positive correlationbetween social support and school belongingness within college students, that is to saycollege students who obtain more social support are more likely to enhance their sense ofbelongingness. Secondly, as for the impact of social support of different degrees on schoolbelongingness, the school-level social support is much higher than that of non-school level.Thirdly, with regard to the influence of different social support on each dimension ofbelongingness, the impact of school-level social support can be classified as,according to itsvarious degrees, emotional sense of belongingness, the spiritual sense of belongingness andidentity sense of belongingness. Similarly, the influence of non-school level social supporton each dimension includes, from obvious to marginal, the identity sense of belongingness, emotional sense of belongingness and spiritual sense of belongingness.Specifically, there are three contributions in this study. Firstly, in terms of researchobjects, we can further complement the theory of the relationship between social supportand school belongingness: an obvious positive correlation still exists, not only for primaryand middle school students, but also the group of university students. Secondly, regardingthe variable measurement, the dimensional division between social support and schoolbelongingness remains some coincidence by domestic scholars. Thus, we need to apply a new perspective to differentiate the dimensions, which is currently attempted by the writer. In addition, as for the impact of social support on the school belongingness, the socialsupport is further classified as:the school-level social support and non-school levelone.Meanwhile, different-level impact of social support which presents various dimensionson school belongingness is clearly defined. In theory, the research aims to further clarifythe relativity between social support of different levels and school belongingness, andenrich the related theory of such academic area.
