The kindergarten’s activity being open to parents is one way to total homeeducation. The research on the activity’s problems and countermeasures helps usunderstand the influencing factors of the activity, figures out the role of teacher andparent and urge them to modify their behavior according to the requirements of therole.The research adopts observation, questionnaire and interview to collect material,and analyzes the problems in three stages which are before the activity, formalopening activity, and following-up activity. Problems in first stage are: principal,teacher and parent do not have a unified understanding of the purpose; parents don’tparticipate in the activities of the organization and preparation and the teachers’workload is huge. Problems in second stage are: some of the information that teachersshow for parents about children’s living and learning in kindergarten is not true; thedesire and reality of parents’participation is contradictory and their role in the activityis undefined. Problems in the last step are: the kindergarten summarizes the activitythemselves; teacher and parent do not communicating on the activity after the activity;evaluation system on the kindergarten’s activity being open to parents has not yetbeen established.Researcher considers that the cause of the problems of Open Day activities canbe attributed to two aspects. First,in the kindergarten: the difference amongkindergartens’ organization cultures; private kindergarten based on considerations ofchildren; principal leadership style; teachers’ awareness of Open Day activities. In thefamilies: the role parents "character bundle" trigger conflict; parents’ misconceptionof cooperation between kindergarten and family. The researchers put forward thefollowing countermeasures according to the problems existing in the Open Dayactivities: improve the interaction between parent and teacher and build a learningorganization; perfect the evaluation system and play the positive function of theevaluation; promote parental involvement, form a parent volunteers.
