The training program of English teachers has been launched in Shaanxi provincewith new basic education curriculum reform. Teachers’ training is the main way toimprove teachers’ ability and professional knowledge, and the model of teachers’training is essential in promoting senior high school English teachers’ overall quality.Its scientific nature and rationality determines the effectiveness and efficiency oftraining. The English teacher in rural senior high school is the main force of educationcareer, the teachers’ quality plays an immeasurable role in present education. However,the research of English teacher training model in Shaanxi rural senior high school isstill very weak, many teachers training activities can’t meet the actual needs ofEnglish teachers. Therefore, the research of English teachers’ training model inShaanxi rural senior high school is very necessary.According to the theories of teacher professionalism and adult experiencetraining circle theory, the teachers training mode of related research at home andabroad were reviewed. This research mainly adopts literature analysis, questionnairesurvey, interviews and classroom observation and other methods to research theteachers who participate in Shaanxi rural high school English teachers’ training. Thewriter analyses the current teachers’ training status in Shaanxi rural areas relatedresearch at home and abroad and discusses the current problems of training modefrom teacher training target, contents, methods, evaluation these four aspects. Thenthe analysis of the causes is carried on. Finally, the training modes are constructedwhich are suitable for English teachers in Shaanxi rural high school, relevantstrategies and suggestions from the training organization, the participation of teachersand the rural senior high school are proposed. The author hopes that it could providetheoretical support and practical guidance for the development of English education inShaanxi Province through the research of English teachers’ training model in Shaanxirural senior high school.
