Employment is the most important indicator of the country’s political andeconomic boom and people’s livelihood. Since the reform and opening-up, along withthe rapid development of the national economy, our college graduates growexponentially. With the dramatic growth in the number of graduates, the difficulty instudent employment in recent years become the focus of attention. In order to solvethe problem of student employment difficulty, the government, the employer(enterprise), colleges and universities urge to develop a variety of employment policy,to promote employment of college graduates.Since World War II, Japan’s economy experienced a transitional period and facedstudent employment difficulty as well. But in recent years, the employment ofuniversity students in Japan has always been stable. In order to promote theemployment of college graduates, which graduate employment policy Japan has taken?With this question, the author studied the employment of college graduates in Chinaand Japan, the problem of graduate employment policy, there to produce a positivereference on the employment of college graduates in China.In this paper the author made a comparative study of college graduatesemployment policy between China and Japan through literature review andcomparative analysis. Both countries have a relatively complete employment policyfor college graduates, however, due to their environment, the effect of theimplementation of its own characteristics. By comparing similarities and differencesin employment policy of college graduates between China and Japan, the authorfound out the existing problems of China’s college graduates employment policy:inadequate advocacy of policy; imperfection of supporting policy; uneveneffectiveness of employment policies; and lack of relevant law and regulation, etc.Finally, learn from the Japanese employment of college graduates on the basis ofpolicy, the author have targeted five suggestions: first is to improve the regulations ofthe college graduates employment; second is to play the government, the employer(enterprise), universities and intermediary together; third is to establish a unifiedgraduate employment information publishing platform; fourth, pay attention to the government’s macro-control policy establishment of service system and professionaladjustment and curriculum as a breakthrough, and actively promote the reform ofhigher education.
