Nanjing National Government unified the country formally after the years of tangledwarfare between warlords and the government, and then it began to pay attention to thedevelopment of education in order to stabilize society and consolidate its dominion. In viewof the importance of frontier, the Nanjing National Government gave great attention andsupport to the frontier education, the development of frontier education should start from thebasic education, the shortage of teachers in primary and middle school in frontier areas is themost important problem, so the basic education development in the frontier should be turnedto solve the shortage of teachers. If this problem can not be solved, the frontier basiceducation will not be well developed. So the national government formulated relevant policiesand established frontier normal school to advance frontier teachers training development ofprimary and middle school for developing teachers’ nurturance, serving education, improvingthe level of education in minority areas.The thesis mainly analyses the training of frontier primary and middle school teachers inperiod of Nanjing National Government from four parts. The first part mainly analyses thebackground of politics and culture, the situation of teacher training and the importance offrontier teacher training at the beginning of Nanjing National Government was founded. Thesecond part mainly analyses the Nanjing National Government formulated related policies forteacher training such as the establishment and development of the government fosters and theinstitutions for managing teacher training, the specific policies of frontier teacher training thatwere formulated by government and the policy that the funds support and reward preferentialpolicies of frontier were made for teacher training. The third part mainly focuses on the mainschools, source of students, the curriculum, and analysis of characteristics in the primary andmiddle school of frontier teacher training. The last part mainly analyses the developing offrontier primary and middle school teacher training and the positive and negative influenceengendered to frontier areas when the period of Nanjing National Government.During the whole period of Nanjing National Government, the training of frontierteachers in primary and middle school was effective, and it reserved a lot of teachers forfrontier basic education, improved the people’ knowledge level in frontier minority areas, promoted the development and improvement of education in frontier minority areas.Meanwhile, it laid the foundation at the development of frontier education for the People’sRepublic of China, so its contribution is great.
