The Effect Of Social Work Intervention In Volunteer’s Empowerment

Shenzhen is developing the“linkage of social worker and volunteer”mode,establishing social workers and volunteers linkage mechanism,and cultivating avolunteer team led by professional social workers,which effectively integrate thesetwo kinds of service resources,and which is also a new way to implement publicmanagement and social service socialization.Inorder to fulfill social work “help peopleself-help”concept,the study is under the guidance of empowerment theory to practicethe “linkage of social worker and volunteer”,through social work intervention, thevolunteer gain relevant knowledge and ability.The paper choose40Songgang Volunteers as research objects,and volunteertraining project as the platform，by means of questionnaire survey and case interviewmethod to collect materials,dividing the research objects into experimental group andcontrol group,and carrying out professional knowledge training and organizingvolunteers growth team activities as a intervention factor,to discuss if it has asignificant effect for knowledge acquisition, interpersonal interaction and socialparticipation ability.Through the research, obtaining the following main findings:1.By comparing thedifferent degrees of the volunteer knowledge after training between the experimentalgroup and control group,it shows that training promoted the growth of volunteers’knowledge;2.Compared with ordinary volunteer service activities, the experimentalgroup through the social work intervention improved significantly in the degree ofinteraction in group work,which shows the group work can promote the interactionempowerment between the volunteers;3.The volunteers who participated in trainingand group work can use what then have learned to design service activitiesindependently and participate in social service effectively, while the control group didn’t realize they can planning activities;4.From the social work intervention effect,the training and group work have a positive effect on volunteer personal abilityempowerment, interpersonal interaction empowerment and the empowerment of socialparticipation,which provides a good reference value for exploring the“linkage ofsocial worker and volunteer”;5.The“linkage of social worker and volunteer”canintegrate the resources of the social workers and volunteers, and volunteer is not asimple aider,but a role who support and cooperate with social worker;6.In order topromote the increasing of volunteer’s social participation,social workers should Fightfor resources for volunteers and promote sustained volunteer service.
