The trend of floating population who are followed by their family transferring to thecity continues to strengthen. Meanwhile, the scale of floating children is expanding andthe issue regarding their peer relationship also arouses much concern by public opinion.This research embarks from the ‘strength perspective’, through professional social-workmethods, the writer aims to intervene and research the problem of floating children’s peerinteraction. Particularly, the improvement of their resilience is perceived as abreakthrough point. In addition, macro policies as well as micro intervention areeffectively integrated. At the same time, based on the introduction of whole-course groupactivities, the dynamic process of peer contact is explicitly presented, which is expectedto make up for the unilateral static description of previous literature.Before the intervention, the researcher carried out the survey on peer relation andmutual communication of floating children, by means of questionnaire, interview andparticipatory observation. According to the survey, the resilience of peer relationship isexpected to enhance. Combined with evaluation of demand, on the basis of differentclients’ features, seven group activities are designed with the aim of deepening theimpression and diversifying the skills of peer contact. The themes of activities whichrespectively last for50minutes comprise ‘Hi, how are you’,‘Self-exploration andknowing others’,‘Self-assessment’,‘Unity is strength’,‘Nice to meet you’,‘Bridge ofspirit’,‘Together forever’. This research is based on group activities and integrates theaim of promoting resilience into them. Moreover, process, effects, brief summary andrethink of each activity are vividly presented, especially the scene of companioninteraction. Thus, according to the data of observation, interview and questionnaire, theeffectiveness of the group activities is evaluated in detail.In the last section of the dissertation, some conclusions are made that it is of great effectiveness for social work improving the peer relationship of floating children.Furthermore, features of floating make a difference to peer relation. In addition, it can beapplicative for ‘strength perspective’playing a crucial role in the issue regarding floatingchildren because of the close connection between peer-contact process and interventioneffects, Service object selection needs to be more scientific and reasonable, activitiesshould be more emphasis on the mobilization of crew. Finally, the writer rethinks on theprocess of intervention and summarizes its deficiencies, in order to gather relatedexperience for future research as well as social-work intervention.
