With the process of urbanization and industrialization, the peer interaction problems of floating children is an important way to certificate early socialization and urban adaptation and integration. In this paper, we mainly focus on the floating children from "Half-past-four school" in X community of wuhan. After investigating, we find the common problems of socializing with peers for the floating children, which include the problem of lack of self-confidence, the problem of deviation in notion of making friends, the problem of weak unwillingness to communicate with peers, the problems of lack of good interpersonal skill. In order to help improving the ability of socializing with peers for floating children,we investigate eight floating children according to the interview results. Then we design and implement the so-called“going hand-in-hand”group activity following the social support theory and the three-stage design principle of early stage, middle stage and later stage to improve the peer relationship of floating children and further help the floating children adapt to new environment. Finally, we evaluate the effectiveness of the group activity based on two evaluation methods, process evaluation and result evaluation.By analyzing and summarizing the results fully, we find that the dynamic change of socializing with peers for the floating children is closely related to the effective intervention of group activity, which is in the perspective of social support theory. The group work is obviously effective in intervening and improving the ability of socializing with peers for the floating children, and this kind of activity is worthy to be widely promoted to some extent. The result also shows that the intervention of social workers has a great influence on the improvement of ability to socialize with peers. In addition, this paper proposes innovative research and we have summarized and reflected the two evaluation methods, process evaluation and result evaluation during the activity. Further improvement would be implemented in more aspects such as selecting service objects, making up service programs and setting the process of activity.
