This thesis starts with the practice of high school headteacher performance managementin Handan, mainly using questionnaire survey to detailedly investigate the developmentsituation of high school headteacher performance appraisal in Handan,and it analyzes theinvestigated data using SPSS statistics software and sums up the main problems existing inthe performance appraisal process. According to the logic of the modern theory ofperformance management, the thesis puts forward some suggestions to improve headteacherperformance appraisal. There are8aspects to propose specific optimization ideas, whichprovide highly targeted proposals and further improvement to the headteacher performanceappraisal of high school in Handan. The strategies are as follows: reducing the burden ofteaching tasks, optimizing the performance appraisal main structure, paying more attention toperformance feedback and its way, carrying out the teacher performance coaching program,optimizing gender and age structure of headteacher team, giving full play to the guiding roleof performance evaluation, increasing the students’ individual education assessment index,strengthening headteacher team humanistic care.
