The teaching of English at primary school is the stage of enlightenment for pupils’learning, the task of teaching is cultivating students’ interest in learning and good habits. Butas the grade increase and the content being more difficult, there will be a special groupappearing——English low achievers. This paper is divided into four parts: the first part is anintroduction which introduces the study on the English low achievers at home and abroad.The second part in this paper is an study which Select253pupils of Grade3,4,5,6in LPXPrimary school,12teachers and35parents of English low achievers as the investigators, inthe form of questionnaire survey about family,school and pupils. In the third part, the mainreason of Low performance in English learning is the lack of motivation,bad habits ofEnglish learning, disturbance of emotion and the differences on Personality. In addition, wecan’t ignore the importance of Family educational mode and parental behavior, teachers’teaching strategies and evaluation system, the social cultural and so on. The fourth part in thispaper, giving some suggestion about reducing the number of English low achievers andimproving their English achievement. then verify the effectiveness of these strategies in orderto promote the development of English low achievers healthily.
